what is the weather like in may?

great news! puglia in may is considered one of the driest months of the year, featuring minimal rainfall. the weather is dry and warm, averaging 22°C (71°F), with evenings cooling down to a mild temperature. we recommend packing some jackets for the wedding, as the reception will be outdoors (provided we’re fortunate with the weather!).

when should I aim to arrive in puglia?

we’d love to have you join us for welcome drinks on the 20th of may. if this is not possible, then we can’t wait to see you on our special day.

we will also send regular communications to guests via email in the lead up to the wedding with important updates to ensure a smooth few days of celebrations.

where is the reception?

weather going to plan, reception will be held outdoors in the olive grove at masseria don luigi.

how do we travel from church to reception to home?

we will be organising bus transportation for guests staying within 15 minutes from the venue, to ensure a smooth journey on the wedding day. we ask that as part of your final rsvp that you nominate if transportation is required along with details of your accommodation. see discover puglia for recommended locations within this radius.

can you travel around puglia via taxi or uber?

while taxis are available, we recommend either organising a car rental or private bus transfers to help you get around the region.

is there parking at the church or reception?

there is parking at the central historical town of martina franca. parcheggio comunale orti del duca is a few minute’s walk from the basilica.

at reception, parking is available to guests. more information to be provided.

should i rsvp children?

for any children accompanying you to the wedding, please ensure to advise in your rsvp submission.

what is the dress code?

for welcome drinks, please wear smart casual.

for the wedding, the dress code is black tie. that means tuxedos for men and ball gowns for women.

we kindly ask that guests do not wear cream or white.

for recovery, channel your inner palm springs glamazon and embrace slim aaron’s aesthetic with bright colours, patterns or crochet.

are there any colours you’d prefer me to wear at the wedding?

what’s most important to us is that you have a wonderful time at our wedding. if you’re looking for some inspiration or guidance on dress-wear for the wedding, we welcome soft pastels and muted metallics.

what can I expect on the wedding day?

let’s put it simply, a party. the festivities commence late afternoon from 3pm at a nearby church, followed by reception at the property, masseria don luigi.

there is an considerable food menu organised for the night with celebrations continuing to 2am in the morning.

can i bring a plus one, or children?

of course. please ensure your plus one or child/ren are accounted for in your rsvp.

what type of food will be served at the events?

for welcome drinks, expect small nibbles.

for the wedding, expect traditional apulian cuisine including seafood, cheese, pasta and charcuterie.

what time will reception end?

reception will end at 2am, however there will be shuttle buses leaving the venue at certain times during the night to transport you back to your accommodation. more information to be shared in the lead up to the wedding.

will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

the church ceremony will end 5pm, with buses collecting guests from 5:20pm onwards back to reception at the masseria don luigi.

have we reserved accommodation or rooms for guests outside of the primary venue?

primary venue has been reserved for bridal party and immediate family members, however there are plenty of accommodation options nearby. see our recommendations on where to stay here.
